Sleep

For me, sleep is a beautiful thing. For Kasen, it is apparently not.

He has used us as a crutch for too long and we are now in the process of changing his sleep habits, which isn't easy for us or for him. He falls alseep great -  either by nursing or us wiggling him while we walk up and down the hallway (hmmm, my bad, I know, I know). Then 20 to 60 minutes after we put him in his crib, he wakes up screaming. It's so sad. From our perspective he wakes up for no reason. He's not hungry, he doesn't have a dirty diaper, he's not hot, he's not cold. He's tired - so stay asleep, will ya?! We are pretty lucky though, he has slept through the night since he was about 3 weeks old. We've probably gotten a lot more sleep than most new parents. Most of the time he sleeps through from 10 pm to 7 am. We just need to work on the initial sleep phase.
Sleepy time
We are now in the process of implementing a new bedtime routine - so wish us luck! Hopefully in a couple weeks Kasen will appreciate sleep as much as we do.

  1. Good luck!! Sleeping is such a nice thing. Each phase of infancy/toddler-hood/childhood brings new challenges, I hope the new routine works for you!!
